Replacement and Upgrading of Automatic Fare Collection Gates and Ticket Issuing Machines
Contract No.: C3025-18E

MTR Corporation Limited invites qualified companies to express their interest in tendering for the replacement and upgrade of the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) System on the MTR rail network.
 
The existing smart card based AFC system is planned to be transformed to a Multiple Electronic Payment (MEP) system. There will be about 1500 AFC Gates and 420 Ticket Machines (TMs) to be replaced, and about 500 AFC Gates to be refurnished and upgraded. The AFC equipment (about 240 AFC Gates, 100 TMs and 16 Self Service Points) recently introduced at West Island Line, Kwun Tong Line Extension, South Island Line, Mong Kok Station and Kowloon Tong Station are also required to be upgraded to support the MEP system.
 
The new and upgraded AFC Gates are required to accept a number of ticket media and electronic payment means including but not limited to the following: Octopus, ride based smart ticket, ride based QR Code paper ticket, QR Code based mobile e-payment, contactless EMV cards in physical card form or embedded in mobile devices.
 
The new and upgraded TMs are required to accept electronic payment means including but not limited to the following: Octopus, QR Code based mobile e-payment and contactless EMV cards. Cash payment (acceptance and change giving) are required be provided for a limited number of new TMs.
 
The prequalification process for the tender is tentatively scheduled to take place in August 2018 and tenders invited in December 2018.

唔係,英國做法係全offline,但問題係NFC Type-A/B唔夠NFC Type-F(felica)快

所以去到外國,例如Sydney, Singapore, London甚至去鄰國支那同台灣用佢張膠卡出入閘都明題感覺到同八仔、Suica速度上分別

NFC Type-A/B係NXP自己研發,佢原意無預大眾運輸用,只係預POS同酒店開門
相反NFC Type-F係Sony+JR東日本研發(當時目標係取代磁氣卡),一開波scope of works就係比大眾運輸用,所以無論傳輸速度,感應面,同介面保安真係贏晒Type-A/B。

用一個比喻,Type-F就好似一架可以飛300km/h o既新幹線,Type-A/B係一架跑160km/h o既特急,速度差2倍,但已經差好遠了

QR Code只係一架行110km/h o既通勤列車,連特急燈尾都見唔到

NFC-A/B 暫時一定唔夠 FeLiCa 快架喇,不過港鐵行踏出呢一步,等支付系統唔使再俾八達通做獨市都係好事。短期內,我相信香港人仍然會以用八仔為主,QR/信用卡可能係遊客多,反而我有興趣,當手機有齊 EMV / NFC-F 時,個閘點樣決定用邊張,即係例如,你部 s9,同時有張 Smart Octopus on Samsung Pay,而另外你仍有張 Visa 係入面,可以用 Samsung Pay或 Google Pay,咁個閘會點樣決定行邊張先。

我估係Type-F優先(R/W control)。

其實等於Apple Watch 3/iPhone X/8去到日本,一拍Suica機都識由信用卡自動跳去Suica

咁係咪因為 suica set 左做 transit card? 因為 iOS 係可以對應 transit card 唔需要做認證就可以用。 Samsung 個系統有無類似設定?

隻reader/writer應該都有o野可以令到某種卡優先,例如初代都會票都唔係Felica,係Mifare黎
