不過都讀咗唔少數

1. 大學讀咗唔少科,好多科讀完都算開拓咗視野,但真心畀我到我intellectual challenge既,莫過於Math. Real Analysis & Abstract Algebra 真係讀到想喊,但讀完真係覺得自己升咗level,醒目咗。最直接既效果就係睇其他學科既書(Stat, Econ, Finance)速度提升咗勁多
2. UG Math分三個level
一個係齋計,咩calculus, linear algebra, complex variable, ode
跟住係Proof-based, real/complex/functional analysis, algebra, topology呢d
最高級係research,自己produce到結論
你唔進入下一個階段,僅僅係一個階層入邊讀到幾深都唔會有太大提高。例如計數就算畀你玩熟曬PDE,你都不及一個只讀咗proof-based intro (real analysis for example)學生既mathematical sophistication.
所以成日你見到D人話engineering math點深點難(fourier/lapace transform, bessel function個堆)真係得啖笑
2. Math係基礎學科,唔搭其他野喺HK真係乞食
stat, cs, econ, finance, (education)呢d最好都讀下,如果想深入d就讀個master轉行
理論上Math Major數底好讀其他科都好受歡迎,因為大部分理工商科都只係applied math/stat;可惜香港讀數好易爛grade,所以...
not really, non linear PDE已經可以玩死一個 1st hons數學人
唔好將applied math當係 engineering math咁睇
廣義相對論咪都只係 non linear PDE, 你會覺得難過 abstract algebra?
我specify咗係UG level (a typical undergraduate course)
UG PDE大部分都係畀Physics major讀
分下類跟住examples manipulate下variable,跟住照plug d initial/boundary conditions (咩heat, poisson, green之類,唔記得啦)
最多prove下existence and/or uniqueness
可能會搵下d numerical methods chok到個數出黎就差唔多
所以唔會難得過a typical UG level abstract algebra course
讀數學係咪應該是要讀complex analysis 同abstract algebra
加埋 real analysis同 topology係一般 pure math人必修, 一般加埋number theory 後 剩低一堆math elective
