The Hong Kong Observatory has issued a forecast that "a tropical cyclone will enter 800 km of Hong Kong at night of 18 July (Friday) and T1 will be issued by then. T3 will be issued on 19 July (Saturday). The TC is expected to be the closest to HK during the noon time of 20 July (Sunday). Chance of T8 is more than 50% and would be in force for most of day of Sunday. The closest distance would be around 165 km (more than 100 km) and chance of T9 or above is expected to be lower than 50% at the moment. T8 to be replaced by T3 at night of Sunday/early on 21 July (Monday).
