Children patients and staff at United Christian Hospital had a day to cheer thanks to a surprise visit from a number of Kitchee players including Wang Zhenpeng, Law Tsz Chun, Jay Haddow, Tan Chun Lok, Fernando, Aarón Rey, and Academy coach Poon Man Chun. This special occasion was also meaningful to everyone as this regular event was the very first hospital visit after the pandemic outbreak.
‘It was a very humbling experience, these kids are going through a lot! And it was great that we could interact with them and hope they enjoyed the fun games and interactions. I throughly enjoyed the experience and would jump at any opportunity to do it again.’ Jay Haddow said.
As Kitchee’s long-term partner, United Christian Hospital is one of the beneficiaries over the years which Kitchee have fundraised for different advanced medical equipment and machineries including Non-invasive positive pressure ventilation to enhance the quality of life for young patients.
‘I want to express my sincere gratitude for all the support Kitchee have provided over the years. I think the most impactful takeaway from this visit is to inspire young patients to stay strong and not giving up in any aspects, just like how Kitchee players have done it on the field. This is also a great moment to let the children know that they are loved and they are not alone when it comes to difficulties.’ Deputy Chief of Service of Department of Paediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, Kowloon East Cluster Dr. David Luk Chi Kong said.
