🚨| F1 calendar 2026: Miami and Montreal in May, Monaco first stage in Europe:
— Formula 1’s ongoing effort to streamline its global travel calendar will bring noticeable changes in 2026, with new regional clustering and a restructured sequence of races. According to reports, the Canadian and Miami Grands Prix will be held back-to-back in May, followed by a reshuffled European leg beginning with Monaco.
— Joe Saward reported that the 2026 season will begin in Australia one week earlier than in 2025, helping improve logistics and reduce unnecessary travel distances.
— The Canadian Grand Prix will move forward to May to align with the Miami GP, combining North American stops for efficiency. These will form part of F1’s triple-USA run with Austin and Las Vegas later in the year.
— Monaco will take over as the first European round in the absence of Imola, which appears unlikely to remain on the calendar beyond 2025. Monza has secured its place through 2031, making Italy’s second race increasingly unsustainable.
— Spain will still feature two races in 2026: Barcelona in the early summer and Madrid—currently under construction—in September after the Italian GP. However, 2027 is expected to mark the final year for Barcelona as Madrid takes over full-time.
— F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali acknowledged the difficult decisions ahead regarding race venues.
“It will be increasingly difficult to have two GPs in the same country because the interest in Formula 1 is growing. It is a situation that we will have to face in the coming months… from a human point of view it will not be easy, but I have to exercise an international role that puts me in front of many demands.”
