I rushed home to catch the final episode of ViuTV’s 足球女將!I was pleasantly surprised that our U21 game was live on MUTV.
Leeds were assisted by the wind and were 2 goals up in the first half. Kone shone in the second half with a fantastic volley as well as winning the penalty which resulted in a draw.
I can see why Amorim may want to cash in on Mainoo in order to bring in some cash to balance the books. Kone is a more capable 6 that can sit next to Ugarte. Whereas Mainoo is not totally comfortable in 6 or 10, and the gaffer has no room for an 8!
FA Youth Cup Semis next before the Forest clash. Let’s hope our boys will turn up!
Meanwhile, I want to jump back to 足球女將!I admit, initially I watched coz I wanted to check out the ladies. The statuesque Nikita and 婷欣 certainly caught my eye! Otherwise, I totally expected it to be a Mickey Mouse programme, but some of the gals did show remarkable improvements.
Of course none of them would ever walk into our ladies’ team. Given time, 5 or 6 of them may make it to the local leagues. All the natural athletes excelled with NB top of the crop. Sum, Vivian, Ice and Ocean also have the physicality and basic skills to make those friendly matches somewhat watchable.
Any reality shows are partly scripted and politically driven. What we eventually watch is never the whole truth. I always admire Viu for going towards the younger (not-so-interested-in terrestrial TV) viewers. Their viewing numbers are always minute but that hasn’t deterred them from coming up with fresh ideas.
I’ve actually spoken to producers from my company about this programme. They said it would never work over there! I guess that’s why we continue to make save and predictable products that can satisfy our core audience.
I wonder in the future, whether it’ll be us or them that will come up with something that have the same impact as Netflix’s Adolescence?
