This is a known issue with how the PS5 handles network routing, NAT traversal, and remote session state. Here’s a simple breakdown of why it happens:
When you use Remote Play internally (same network as the PS5), the PS5 detects that you are local and sets up a direct LAN connection (not over the internet).
It bypasses the PlayStation Network servers (which normally handle Remote Play over the internet).
Afterward, the PS5 sometimes sticks in a "LAN-only" state, because it "thinks" you're still on the local network — even when you're not anymore.
It basically fails to reset itself to "internet-accepting mode" unless you "wake" it properly or reboot it.
