A busy Tube station is set to close for nine weekends as works begin on a huge new development that will be built over the top of the station. The 14-storey high development will be home to office space, shops, restaurants and an affordable space to work, and will be built over Southwark Tube station.
Transport for London (TfL) has said 429 student rooms, as well as 40 affordable homes, could be built as part of the development works. The affordable homes would be built in a second standalone building adjacent to the Jubilee line station.
