Danny Boyle’s upcoming film ‘28 Years Later’ is making headlines for being the largest movie shot on smartphones, specifically the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
With a $75 million budget, this marks a significant shift in filmmaking. Boyle and cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle, who previously shot ‘28 Days Later’ with digital cameras, used specialized rigs to adapt the iPhones with DSLR lenses.
The movie, starring Cillian Murphy, Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes, is part of a new trilogy and will be released in June 2025. Apple provided technical support for the production.
