Thai Airways will continue to operate its Airbus A350 fleet, despite Cathay Pacific grounding some of its A350s.
Cathay Pacific canceled nearly 70 flights on Monday after an engine component failure forced a Zurich-bound flight to return. The airline inspected all 48 of its Airbus A350s, finding 15 with faulty parts that needed replacement. The engines, Trent XWB-97, are made by Rolls-Royce.
Thai Airways CEO Chai Eamsiri explained that inspection protocols differ among airlines. Thai Airways conducts thorough checks on its aircraft according to safety standards for every flight. Currently, no issues or abnormalities have been found in its A350 fleet.
If any discrepancies or component malfunctions are identified, they will be reported. As of now, Thai Airways has not detected any problems. The airline continues to adhere to stringent safety standards and confirms that its Airbus A350 fleet is operating normally, he added.
