President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a visit to the UK gave an exclusive interview to the BBC. He said that with the support of allies, Ukraine could "try to end the hot stage of the war by the end of this year."
"I believe that if we are united, and go, for example, in the format of the Peace Summit, we can end the hot stage of war. We can try to do this by the end of this year," Zelenskyy said.
"The plan will be ready. If it leads to the end of the hot stage of the war, it will be very correct and very strong," he added.
At the same time, the president noted that this plan should be shared with partners - "it depends on their desire that no one plays in their initiatives to end the war."
According to him, Ukraine's partners should put pressure on Russia - "so that Russia agrees to sit down and think about the end of the war."
"This does not mean that all territories must be conquered by force. I believe that the power of diplomacy can help," he said and added that a weaker Russia on the battlefield will put Ukraine in a stronger position at the negotiating table.
"If you put pressure on Russia, I think it is possible to agree on a settlement and diplomatic," he added.
