Sir Keir Starmer has appointed Angela Rayner and Rachel Reeves to the new Cabinet.
The senior Labour politicians were seen walking down Downing Street this afternoon for a meeting with the new Prime Minister.
Ms Reeves was appointed Chancellor of the Exchequer and Ms Rayner, the forthright, MP for Ashton under Lyne, was handed two portfolios by Sir Keir: Deputy Prime Minister and housing secretary.
She will be responsible for delivering Labour’s pledge to construct homes up and down the country.
The Labour leader is expected to appoint most of the major figures in his shadow cabinet to the real Cabinet on Friday afternoon.
