"I love it, obviously I've got a young family, with two kids aged two and four," he said.
"My usual Thursday (in Australia), I'd be riding work at four, getting home at seven, sweating an hour-and-a-half in the car to wherever, riding, an hour-and-a-half in the car home.
"It'll be seven o'clock and I haven't even seen the kids … whereas in Hong Kong, I only ride (in races) twice a week, I live on track, so I ride work at six and be home by seven.
"I have date night with the wife twice a week, so social life is good, the prizemoney is good and tax here is non-existent basically - for a jockey, it's an amazing place.
"Obviously when you first come here you don't get much of a chance, it's hard - everyone here is the top seed of their jurisdiction, then they come over and they're no longer top dog.
"You can see why lots of people go home straight away, but I wanted to give it a go and I'm glad I stuck through … I couldn't imagine anything else, I love my life here."
