SWE here, if you're a US citizen defense contractors are hiring continuously. If you don't mind getting a security clearance and have a clean record you should be in good shape. Just be prepared to be onsite 5 days week and SCIF work. Interviews at these companies don't do leetcode traditionally and use the STAR interview method.
