YouTube has now confirmed to Android Authority that subscribers of a YouTube Premium family plan must physically reside in the same household as the family manager. Simply having the same family billing address, as mentioned in the original article below, won’t cut it anymore.

The company also says there’s no other form of residential proof required to show that you’re part of a YouTube Premium family subscription. The platform’s systems “use various signals to flag accounts as needing family plan eligibility verification.” These can include IP address-based restrictions

以往加入 family member 如果 dectect 到來自不同國家／地區是不能邀請，現在有用家收到電郵通知，所有成員必需物理地住在一起才可，還要補交證明。這可以預視如果某成員長期使用不同 IP 可能會引起關注，提交居住證明後，收費計劃是否要跟據居住住址調整（例如居港阿根廷人)，暫時未有這方面的消息。
