This afternoon, a woman died after being hit by a bus in the center of Santiago. The vehicle was diverting from the protests in Alameda.
A woman died after being run over this Friday afternoon by a bus on the corner of Nataniel Cox and Alameda streets, in the Metropolitan region. The vehicle made a detour due to student protests at the José Manuel Carrera National Institute, in the center.
The victim was 41 years old and of Venezuelan nationality. She died after being trapped between a RED bus and a street light as she tried to cross the corner.
Personnel from the Traffic Accident Investigation Section continue to generate the relevant report to determine the responsibility of the bus driver.
Student protests
Since the beginning of the afternoon, students from the National Institute and the Tajamar High School have protested inside the establishments and on the outskirts. Images released show the presence of barricades, riots and water cannons to stop the demonstrations.
