Dear COMP 2011 students,

We are very disappointed to find out many cheating cases in PA3. Again, as we have clearly written on our course website under "Honor Code" that regardless of whether one copied one's assignment from others or let others copy assignment from him/her, both cases are considered plagiarism.

The three instructors agree, after a long discussion, to give the cheaters one more chance to confess their wrongdoing. If you committed plagiarism on PA3 and confess

*** before tomorrow noon (Dec 14th, Wednesday) ***

by email or by going to see your TA Wallace, we will reduce your penalty by half to 2.5% of the final grade and your cheating cases will not be reported to the department; your PA3 will still get zero mark though. If we don't hear from the cheaters before tomorrow noon, we'll send out the penalty notice to those we find, and the penalty will be zero mark on PA3 plus 5% penalty on the final grade, and we reserve the right to report your case to the department.

Let me warn the cheaters that we believe we have very strong evidence on your cases, and if you come to appeal and tell more lies about your case, we'll treat that as a further breach of the University's Academic Integrity policy, and we'll impose additional penalty: the penalty will be an additional 10% off from the total mark of COMP 2011 (that is a total of 5% + 10% = 15%) and your cheating case will be reported to the department which, in turn, may report to the University. The result will be a cheating record on your transcript until you graduate. (Please read http://www.ust.hk/vpaao/integrity/ for more details about University's commitment on upholding academic integrity and punishment on breaching academic integrity.)

On the other hand, if you have problem with your study, please approach your instructor or our TAs as soon as possible so that we may try to help you.

Please understand that the cheating cases also include plagiarizing only part of the assignment. And we don't really care about who is copying, who is being copied. They are both considered cheating

其實我係肯定自己比人捉硬因為抄我果個係我朋友黎既
佢岩岩Whatsapp我認copy左我份assignemnt交左
咁我又真係唔知原來佢抄左我
諗住聽朝去搵搵TA傾但照字面我諗我都好大機會有penalty..
睇下巴打們有無計可以點同仍拗

Do you know which date and when the final examination will be
held?? In the past years, some exchange-in students and local students
forgot the official date. No make-up final examination were provided for
them. They got fail eventually.
