Dynamic auto lip-sync
A dynamic auto lip-sync (DALS) feature enables synchronization of audio and video in receiver devices that are capable of dynamically modifying their latency. Receiver devices (SINK) declare their latency information for audio and video in the extended display identification data (EDID) field. Transmitting devices (SOURCE) choose the best synchronization mechanism for rendered audio and video data based on the EDID latency field. The HDMI 2.0 DALS feature allows SINK devices to announce their latency information at any point in transmission so that the SOURCE devices are aware of the correct latency.
