Katy Pang was employed as a (former) Hong Kong police officer and has been fiercely active in enforcing the Beijing-led orders. I would like to bring to your attention the potential threat posted by people of her kind not only to the values of free speech and democracy that we hold dear, but also the safety of local Hong Kong immigrants who have been forced to leave their homeland for freedom. Reports of Beijing’s long-arm persecution of dissidents showed that the state-backed violence has been rampant and systematic in nature. As a global citizen myself among many others, I would like to voice my concern and urge that the authority take appropriate actions.
