Real Betis director says he's ready to sell Arsenal-linked Nabil Fekir, but on one condition
Real Betis sporting director Antonio Cordon has sent a message to Arsenal and other interested clubs about Nabil Fekir.
The talented Frenchman has been linked with a move to the Premier League for about five years now. He was once very close to joining Liverpool, but that move fell through. However, he still dreams of playing in England.
Goal claimed at the end of March that Arsenal are looking at Fekir as an alternative to Martin Odegaard. The same media outlet’s Gunners correspondent, Charles Watts, also revealed on his YouTube show that the £26 million-rated man absolutely wants a move – either to Arsenal or to another English side.
Arsenal target Nabil Fekir will be sold, but only for big money
Betis director Cordon has admitted that he is open to selling Fekir this summer, but he has made it absolutely clear that Arsenal or any other interested club will have to pay a lot of money to sign him.
He said, as per AS: “The idea of the club is that Fekir is a great player and every club that has good players will want to keep them. But in no club in the world is there a non-transferable player if succulent offers arrive.
“For us, it is a cornerstone to have him and maintain him. (But) If someone wants to come for him, they will have to pay a lot of money.”
No football fan can doubt Fekir’s quality after everything he has done over the years. In his two seasons with Betis, the Frenchman has been directly involved in 25 goals, which is a very decent record.
Arsenal’s interest in Fekir is no surprise considering that the former Lyon man is in his prime and has just two years left on his contract. However, there are better options than the 27-year-old on the market.
The Gunners’ priority should still be Odegaard. The Norwegian would be absolutely perfect for us, and even though he will cost a lot more than what Fekir would this summer, he is definitely worth the big bucks.
