Dear Members of the University,
We received a report last night (10 July) that a research assistant living off campus was found to be positive for COVID-19. He did not have symptoms, and took the test because of confirmed cases in his neighborhood. Necessary follow up actions have been taken in line with our published protocol, including special cleaning and asking lab workers who have relatively close contact to work from home. With the rapidly changing, and apparently worsening epidemic situation in the local community, we all need to remain vigilant and diligently observe preventive measures, including mask wearing, hand hygiene and maintaining social distance.
Let us all do our share in combating COVID-19 and keep each other and the community safe!
