120K salary is quite common for entry level SWE here among big firms. I would say 170K fresh grad total comp. (salary + stock + bonus) for big IT firms here is not that far-fetched. After 1/3 tax you probably net 110K per year as a fresh grad.
Last time I check, one still have to pay tax in HK. So one would need to make more than 110K USD per year in order to have the amount after tax.

You can go to NYC if you don't like Silicon Valley. Seattle is also not that far behind I think. There are several tech hubs in the US, not just the Valley.
There were the offers new grads got in different places in North America September last year.
Yes a few towns on the east coast had a lot of jobs (at least before this shit), if you don’t care about the weather lol.
Boston for biomeds, DC for government / ngo / defense, Pittsburg if you are into self driving cars. Austin was also a boomtown for techs.
