【Can we keep resisting while fighting Coronavirus?】Be educated with you!
The whole movement has gradually slowed down since the District Council Elections.
And the Wuhan Coronavirus has prevented us from protesting as much as we have been.
So why don’t we make good use of this time, be prepared for when we resume the struggle;
Read some books, improve ourselves and plan what to do next?
One day, an American guy who participated in some of the HK protests read a book called Self-Liberation: A Guide to Strategic Planning to End a Dictatorship or Other Oppression by an American scholar Gene Sharp.
Briefly talking about how to
liberate a society from a dictatorship and transition it to a democracy
#HongKongIndependenceTheonlywayout
The book wrote about getting to know the characteristics & weaknesses of a dictatorship regime, how to plan actions, what to consider, what to do after success, and more.
The American thought it could be useful for HKers, but 213 pages might be a bit too long for those who are working full time, studying full-time and protesting so much.
So he picked out what he believed are the most essential and most relevant parts to the HK protestors, and asked me to work on a shortened version, in an effort to help HK protestors

Apart from taking good rest at this time, we should really start planning what to do next
Of course we’ve tried part of the methods mentioned in the book, but
2 million smart brains can always think of something new
The American guy and I would like to remind all of you again
“Revolution has not succeeded yet, comrades still need to struggle.”
If the book can inspire you, think hard; everyone can be an organizer
Whoever is good at graphics, we welcome you to take useful points from the book and make promo materials
Please
SHARE with your friends; read and think together, it may mean a new and better direction moving forward.
Although it’s still 62 pages after our editing, because it’s bilingual, you’ll only have to read half the pages! Here’s what’s new in the edited version:
1. Statement of Independent Creation+ Preface
2. Regenerative Culture
3. Four mechanisms of change (simplified original definitions)
4. All footnotes (There were none before; we added them for better understanding with our own interpretations)
Except for these few parts that were written by the American guy and translated by me, all other sections are from the original work.
