My friend Rika works as an accounting manager there. If she takes the job in big 4 she'll be four thousand dollars a month better off but she's still better off now than she was three years ago when she was working below everybody else in the department. She thinks a junior accountant position is beneath her. If she hadn't taken the CPA exam three years ago she wouldn't be working as a manager now. If she had pursued a degree in marketing or sales her salary would be much lower. If it wasn't for her uncle's referral her career wouldn't take off and she wouldn't be earning a lot of money now. She's been having a crush on this guy named John but john has a girlfriend. Her friend said "I don't blame you. He's quite handsome" But she's beginning to realise she has no place in his scheme of things so I told her to forget him. He's just not worth it. Her mum said "you're better off without him" Her auntie too said "you'll be better off without him." She's a sci-fi fan. She said "if starships would exist I would quit my job and spend the rest of my life roaming the universe" Last Tuesday her cousin married her high school sweetheart. Her dad felt she was marrying beneath her though. Her uncle also feels her husband is beneath her. She enjoys socializing with the better off though. Three months ago Rika was away on a business trip to Hokkaido. After her trip I said "if you should travel there again can you get me a pack of white lover cookies please?" Rika's friend Joe has to wrote a report which is due on tuesday but he is having problems with his computer. If Rika would go and fix his computer he would be so thankful for her help. Rika's favourite fighter Dan has won his retirement fight lately. He's eternally grateful to his coaches and thankful that he has got a job as a colour commentator after he retired from the sport. All the fans wanna see Randy versus Freddie. If Freddie will sign a contract with the organisation Dana will make the fight happen. After randy read the terms and conditions of the contract Dana's assistant said "if you would just sign here please" Rika's brother is a concierge in a hotel. I said "if it'll make you happy I'll come to stay for a few nights as company for you while your colleagues are away" By the end of next century scientists will have invented starships. As I'm fascinated by the science of starships I'm gonna ask physics professor Dr. Ng about it. I'm gonna wait outside the lecture room at ten after six. He'll have finished hos lecture. I thought about phoning him at ten of seven but my friend said "don't phone him now. He will not have finished his lecture yet" It's true that he wouldn't have finished teaching yet. I saw Joey Yung live at the hong kong Colosseum twice with my friends last year which was marvelous and unforgettable. The first time we saw her concert we were late. I remember I said "look at the time. The concert will have begun" It was quarter of eight. The concert would've started by then. Yesterday I assigned six hours for practising her songs on my trumpet, cornet, trombone, euphonium, french horn and tuba. I practised with my friends who played glockenspiel, xylophone, marimba, virbraogone, chimes, timpani (kettle-drum), celesta, all of which have definite pitch. Adding these instruments makes the music more rhythmic. Saxophone, cor anglais and clarinet are transposing instruments. Sax, clarinet and bass clarinet are single reed instruments whereas oboe, cor anglais (englosh horn), bassoon and contrabassoon are double reed instruments. Flute is a reedless instrument. Rika gave a party last month. As some of us wanted to watch the news I said "if I could turn the television on please" She then said "sure. if you would switch to the news channel"
