My dad isn’t young, 40-something, works in construction. You know, dwellings in Hong Kong are small, my dad once in a while would ask me what I am reading on the computer, I would just tell him it is a discussion forum. Every time he would say “Oh” and walk away. One day I notice he started playing with his phone stealthily, I even saw him installed apps like LIHKG and Telegram. My mom asked him if he installed apps to meet girls. My dad mostly didn’t answer.

I wasn’t suspicious at first, since he works in construction, he normally leaves early and re-turns late. He goes with a big backpack and wears black boots, looking big and tough.

My suspicion grew in the recent moves. Some-times when I dry my cloths at the balcony, I start seeing sports sleeves and head masks, they were even black. I ask my mom if she bought them. She said no, that my dad bought them be-cause it was hot and sunny at work.

There were normally helmets and gas masks at home. So I believed my mom’s explanations.

But are there really so many coincidents? I started thinking about the dates he went working, especially Saturdays and Sundays. I remembered that my mom also noticed and complained why he had to work on Saturdays and Sundays many times. My mom believed that he went to China find girls, since he returned so late.

So, now I feel really strange.
