Explaining the term NMSL used by Chinese on Twitter

A simple google result shows that it means “Never Mind the Scandal and Libel”, but actually NMSL is an acronym taken from Chinese pinyin of “你媽死了” meaning “your mother is dead”.

So they don’t mean anything positive when using the words, especially when attached with a smile emoji.

You can see that the Chinese would tweet similar derogatory contents replying to “NMSL”, further showing this is not something good, but rather a shared code of foul language among themselves.

True, man! They are uncivilised, uneducated and disrespectful! They can’t even distinguish “dead” from “died” in modern usage. Lame!

I hate these so-called artists being sellout trading their integrity for RMB, forgetting and disrespecting the very place they started their career.
