During the Kwun Tong Anti-Surveillance March on 24th August 2019, a smart lamppost has been taken down by the protestors against mass surveillance.
The protestors found out that the components of the smart lamppost were made in China by Tickteck Technology. Upon further researches, it is discovered that Sansi Technology is the mother company of Tickteck Technology. Sansi Technology cooperated with Huawei Corporation and HGC Global Communications. HGC provides facial recognition solutions, thus these lampposts can record and analyse the data with facial recognition program for surveillance purpose. The surveillance system has a back door and it is confirmed that the data would be sent to China with location at which the data was collected.
There is sound evidence to prove that the data collected would be sent to China. A protestor was arrested by the China's Police when he was entering China. The protestor discovered that he was recorded by the surveillance lamppost and identified by the facial recognition system.
China would assemble all the data collected by the smart lamppost from different countries including but not limtied to the UK, Canada, Singapore and Spain.
Every country which has used surveillance system made in China are being watched by the China's governemnt, in a way similar to the people of Xinjiang who are under full surveillance.
China's government is watching you.
