According to sources as diverse as newspaper headlines (see attached link below) and various discussions on Facebook and web forums, a major strike is expected on 5th August (next Monday), with large scale assembly is also expected in our area. I am worried for both public safety and public transportation logistics for the day.
According to OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ORDINANCE, CHAPTER 509, Employers should contribute to safety and health in their workplaces by:
* providing and maintaining safe access to and egress from the workplaces; and
* providing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
May I seek a clarification on management’s plan?
Will there be any disciplinary action if the employee decided to join the strike on 5 August 2019?
