Concerning the sharing of Rev. Dr. Alvin Cheah which I forwarded to you, teammates, on 23/7 and the related petition against me among alumni, I would like to make a few points as clarification:
* This WhatsApp group is in existence for sharing of school news and matters of concern. The participation in the group is voluntary even though I had extended my invitation to all, mainly teachers. I forwarded the writing of Rev. Dr. Alvin Cheah to the group after I received the message from one of you concerning the situation of HK on 23/7.
* The sharing in the group was not intended to be a MASS MAIL as accused.
* Rev. Cheah's article is not my writing, but one forwarded to me by an alumnus on 23/7, the same day.
* My main concern at that time was that we should "pray for the young people ... pray for peace ... May God save the precious young people of HK".
* In fact different and diverse views have been circulated in the same group, e.g. one from Mr. Eric Cheung TM on 26/6 (after his talk to students & teachers in Munsang College and upon his consent) and another one of Prof. 陳弘毅 (公開信) on 2/7. These two are appended.
* I find myself duty-bound to share various salient arguments of opposing sides to issues of importance to our community with colleagues. As educators, I believe, we should always keep an open mind.
* All in all, for healthy development of our community, I am against violence of all parties.
Pray that things in HK will be back to normal as soon as possible.
