On July 5, Guangdong province in China is trying to push forward a social credit system that would ban/limit people with a low social credit score from using public transport, buying property, or even leaving the country. This scheme included Hong Kong as well.
The social credit system has been implemented in some parts of China as a means to monitor opposite opinion, Xiaodong Xu, the MMA fighter who has defeated several kung fu masters, has the social credit score lowered because he called a tai chi grandmaster affiliated with the CCP a "fraud".
Despite the chief executive deny that the social credit system will not be implemented in Hong Kong. It is discovered that the government has installed monitor devices on the lamp posts in the area where protesters frequent. as well as launched a mandatory scheme to replace all the old ID cards with the smart ID cards, which can be sensed by the lamp post.
When the lamp posts and monitor devices are sufficiently installed, the social credit system could be launched to suppress people with different opinion.
We urge the Hong Kong government to remove all monitoring devices on the lamp post and cease the installation of new devices. We urge the government to make the replacement of smart ID card optional.
If the government does not answer to these requests, it virtually means that the social credit system will be implemented in Hong Kong, and use the system as a political tools to monitor all the people in Hong Kong, including travellers and citizens of other countries.
