早前在接受國外媒體 Variety 專訪時，傑瑞德.雷托 (Jared Leto) 確認自己依然會在DC擴展宇宙中飾演小丑:
「我絕對還會飾演小丑，這和往常一樣完全取決於劇本以及當下的情勢。」
前陣子公開的《猛禽小隊: 哈莉.奎茵大解放》片場側拍中可以清楚看到小丑的身影，但是考慮到男星當時正在拍攝《吸血鬼莫比亞斯》，劇組只得另外安排替身演員來飾演這位犯罪王子。
被問及是否會親自在成品中登場時，男星先是給予否認的答案:「我不這麼認為，這個問題你必須問他們了。」，不過隨後又多加補充:「嗯，我們拭目以待吧！」
在此之前，男星跳槽至索尼影業主演《吸血鬼莫比亞斯》以及導演陶德.菲利普斯 (Todd Phillips) 執導的獨立電影《小丑》的問世，都增加了華納兄弟影業已經私下解僱男星之傳聞的可信度，而男星現在的這番話無疑是在向擔憂其飾演小丑的前景的粉絲們大派定心丸。
