I saw them live at Saitama Super Arena which was marvelous and unforgettable. They've been strutting their stuff since they were young. At the end of the last encore they bowed onstage soaking up the applause. They met with a standing ovation and thunderous applause. The band and the dancers and the acrobats who were invited to perform alongside the band gave a superb performance. The choreography, the stage design and lighting design and the glow sticks were magnificent and satisfied our expectations. Besides being an incredible musician, the drummer Rina is an avid runner. She took part in a five hundred meter race where she came first. She rose to the occasion, ran for all she was worth and dived over the finish line passing the runners who were ahead of her earlier. Her family and loads of her fans congratulated her on winning the race as she held the trophy up. The race was the opportunity for all the world's best female.runners to strut their stuff. It was truly memorable. Yesterday I assigned five hours for practicing their songs on my piccolo, flute, oboe, cor anglais (english horn), clarinet, E-flat clarinet and bass clarinet. I practised with my friends who played tambourine, castanets, sleigh bells (jingle bells), cymbals, triangle, gongs, snare drum and bass drum, all of which have indefinite pitch. Adding these instruments makes the music more rhythmic. Saxophone, cor anglais and clarinet are transposing instruments. Saxophone, clarinet and bass clarinet are single reed instruments while oboe, cor anglais, bassoon and contrabassoon ate double reed instruments. Flute is a reedless instrument. My friend Paul is a clarinetist. He explained to us regarding a piece by Haydn "this passage should be played beautifully rather than rhythmically. Otherwise it's a bit cheap." I saw lots of his pencil marks on the score such as: cantabile, silence, no.pause here, just separate, clean pedal, more melodic voicing, remain soft, stay soft, quiet, hear tenor, clearer, articulate, in tone, silvery soft, gentler, take time...Regarding teaching he said "I prefer payment in blocks. My students pay monthly or for four lessons at a time. For this month it's ok to pay on a lesson-by-lesson basis because maybe you wanna see what it's like to have lessons. From next month onwards pay monthly. Students of all standards are welcome. I'm also an accompanist who accompanies instrumentalists, singers and other performers for exams, auditions and live performances. Some of my adult students started learning the piano when they were eighteen. Their fingers are less flexible and dextrous and slower than say a ten year old kid. So start training your fingers when you're still very young. In this way you're gonna be able to get much faster fingers. It'll improve your finger speed, accuracy, strength and dexterity to.a great extent." He asked me to get him some ravel scores for him as I can get them on the cheap from a friend of mine.
