Can this laptop increase solid-state drives and memory?
Answer: Yes. There are two memory slots and one of them is occupied by 8 GB DDR4 RAM, and the other one is free. If you plug 8 GB RAM to second slot, your laptop will have 16 GB RAM. If you plug 16 GB RAM to second slot, your laptop will have 24 GB RAM. If you would like to have more than 24 GB RAM, than you need to remove pre-installed and 8 GB RAM and plug 16 GB RAM to both slots, than your laptop will have 32 GB RAM.
For your SSD question: There are 3 ways to add SSD to this laptop:
1) There is one empty M.2 SATA 3 SSD slot. You can buy and plug a M.2 SATA 3 compatible SSD. You will have your newly installed SSD and 1 TB HDD.
2) You can remove 1 TB HDD and install 7mm SATA compatible SSD. So you will loose 1 TB HDD
3) You can remove 1 TB HDD and install 7mm SATA compatible SSD and at the same time you can buy and install M.2 SATA 3 SSD. So you will have 2 SSD at the same time. You may use second SSD for capacity increase or software RAID (mirror)
