法國時間11月23日，國際展覽局第164次全體大會投票，選舉日本大阪為2025年世界博覽會的舉辦城市。這是大阪自1970年以來第二次舉辦世博會，也是日本自2005年愛知世博會以來睽違20年的世博會。

此次世博會的會址定在大阪灣人工島「夢洲」，原本是大阪為了競選2008年奧運會的主辦權準備用來做選手村的用地，後來奧運會競選失敗，大阪市政府便計畫把這裡作為場地申辦世界博覽會。為了讓夢洲在世界博覽會之後也能創造經濟效益，大阪目前計畫將夢洲建造為綜合渡假中心，甚至提議在其中引進賭場。

正式命名：大阪・關西世界博覽會
主題：生命閃耀未來社會的設計（Design Future Society for Our Lives）
舉辦時間：2025年5月3日（週六）～11月3日（週一）共185天
舉辦地點：大阪 夢洲
預估訪客人數：約2,800萬人

距離2025年還有7年時間，在期待夢洲建設同時，如果您來大阪旅行，不妨來1970年大阪世博會場地的萬博紀念公園觀光看看喔！大阪世博是首次在亞洲國家舉辦的世博會，入場者達6422萬人次，僅次於2010年的上海世博，是世界博覽會史上第一次沒有虧損的世博會。

這裡可以感受日本庭園的和式之美，還能欣賞著名的藝術建築「太陽之塔」！而且太陽之塔自當年世界博覽會後睽違48年開放內部參觀，今年3月起可以透過官方網站進行預約！如果想要感受半個世紀前的科技與美學，千萬不要錯過喔！
