Arsenal raised their offer in the past few hours to a fixed amount of 65 million euros plus 15 million euros in add-ons, making a total package of 80 million euros that meets nearly all of Sporting’s requirements except for the fixed part of the deal.
Sporting wants to secure at least 70 million euros upfront, meaning there is a 5-million-euro gap between the two parties, which is a much smaller gap and sufficient to set the stage for finalizing the deal at any moment.
The two clubs are still in the negotiation phase, and the final amount has not yet been determined.
However, it is likely that this will happen in the next few hours, especially after Arsenal met the amount requested by Sporting, with only the agreement on the fixed part of the deal remaining.
It is expected that Arsenal and Sporting will finalize the transfer deal.
