According to reports in Italy, Milan will announce Paolo Maldini’s contract extension today or tomorrow. Ricky Massara will also commit his future by signing a new contract. The primary Italian papers report that both directors will sign a new deal until 2024 with an option for a further campaign. Maldini had a positive meeting with future club owner Gerry Cardinale earlier this month and is determined to strengthen the team for next season despite a limited transfer budget. Maldini hopes now that they will sign Renato Sanches despite a strong interest from PSG who are ready to outbid by offering €30m to Lille. Maldini returned to Milan as a director in 2018 and, along with Massara and Geoffrey Moncada, has built the team that surprisingly won the Scudetto in 2021-22.
