Memphis Depay was abandoned by his father as a kid, as the forward has revealed.

However, the 27-year-old has kept his legal surname 'Depay' through his career so far.

Speaking to BBC about being abandoned as a child by his father, Memphis said: "I will never forgive him."

“Do not call me Depay, call me Memphis.

“No, I don’t want to explain exactly what happened at home because I don’t want to make people feel ashamed. And that’s how it will remain because I’ve already moved on,” Depay added.
