北極危機 (Arctic Drift)

馬賽克考察隊出發前往北極，他們的首個任務是在北極附近、北極圈正中間物色一片合適的漂移海冰，在上面建立研究基地，過程困難重重。旅程頭幾個星期，除了天氣嚴寒、冰塊碎裂、北極熊和暴風雨等挑戰外，他們還要面對北極嚴冬的24小時漆黑永夜。前所未見的北極嚴冬生活和海洋暖化的鐵證，將呈現觀眾眼前。
The intrepid team of the MOSAiC expedition set off into the Arctic. Their first task, to find a suitable patch of drifting sea ice that will carry them and their research base, close to the North Pole and right across the Arctic. But it won’t be easy. In this first few weeks of their mission, they’ll face brutal cold, cracking ice, hungry polar bears, violent storms and the 24-hour-darkness of Arctic winter. They reveal more about life in Arctic winter than ever before possible and disturbing evidence of our warming oceans.

Naturalist and explorer Steve Backshall leads a team on a mission to summit a remote and unclimbed mountain in the Stauning Alps of Greenland. To reach their mountain they will have to cross a vast melt-water river and contend with quicksand before skiing across a glacier - and that’s just to reach basecamp. They’re close to the Greenland Ice Cap, which holds 80% of the Arctic’s fresh water. Climbing this mountain gives Steve and his fellow climbers a unique insight into an environment that’s changing fast.

探險家兼博物學家史提夫柏沙出發去探索地球上從未有人去過的地方。今集，他帶領一隊頂尖探險家，包括世界頂級水底洞穴探險家羅拔史密拿、前海軍隊阿度奇、潛水攝影師基蒂菲沙，一起前向墨西哥尤卡坦半島的荒野。在龐大的叢林底下，是全世界最大未被探索過的洞穴群，當中有數千公里的水底通道。因為大部分洞穴均在水底，雖然異常美麗，卻亦非常危險。探索水底洞穴前，他們先要艱苦徒步深入有蠍子出沒、到處有地下大洞的密林紥營過夜。據估算，此地帶的水底洞穴只有百份之一已被探索，探險隊很大機會可以發現從未有人到過的洞穴。但對所有經驗豐富的潛水員來說這都是一大挑戰，史提夫亦要面對迷失於水底砂石塵之中的恐懼。
Adventurer and naturalist Steve Backshall is on a quest to explore parts of the planet where no humans have been before. In this episode, he leads a team of elite explorers - including world leading underwater cave explorer Robbie Schmittner, former Royal Marine Aldo Kane and diving camera operator, Katy Fraser, into the wilds of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. Under the vast jungle here is the largest unexplored network of caves in the world. There are thousands of kilometres of passageways. They’re beautiful, but, with much of the cave system submerged, it's incredibly dangerous. First they must trek through kilometres of tough, scorpion-infested jungle to camp alongside a giant sinkhole in the jungle floor. With only an estimated one per cent of the caves explored, it’s an opportunity for the team to push further than anyone has gone before. This is a challenge that would test even the most accomplished cave diver; Steve must face the terror of being lost underwater in an underwater silt cloud.

He’s leading a team of explorers – including Mexica archaeologist Guillermo de Anda, pioneering cave diver Robbie Schmittner and former Royal Marine Aldo Kane. Beneath the jungle here is a honeycomb of subterranean caves, and the ancient Maya believed some of them were a portal to a supernatural underworld full of terrors.
Exploring deep into these special caves brings Steve face to face with macabre secrets about the ancient Maya. Abseiling in full dive kit, the team descends into a dark and flooded cave. Their torch beams play across human skulls - left as offerings to the gods. In scenes reminiscent of Indiana Jones, they find incredible artefacts - some never before seen - that help understand why the Maya risked their lives to travel so deep into this underworld.

史提夫柏沙深入墨西哥猶加敦尤卡坦半島，展開古瑪雅文明探索之旅。他帶領一隊歷險專家同行，包括墨西哥考古學家幾亞模迪雅達、洞穴潛水專家羅拔史密拿及前皇家海軍阿度奇。叢林之下，地底洞穴如蜂巢密佈。古瑪雅人相信，部分洞穴是通往恐佈地下世界的入口。

蘇利南迷失世界 Suriname: Lost World08/02/2021 18/10/2022
史提夫與一班爬山及叢林求生專家，前往南美洲圭亞那地盾的遠古地帶。廣闊的原始森林及高聳的桌山是地球上最難到達的地域之一。早期的探險家前往尋金，但史提夫的目標是發掘豐富的生態及自然瑰寶。
史提夫與成員乘坐直升機飛到凶險的桌山懸崖，由山頂游繩深入谷底，探索原始叢林。經過壯觀的瀑布來到從未有人探索過的峽谷，發現蜂鳥、巨型蝴蝶和劇毒蜈蚣。他們更在谷底遇上落石，險些成為巨石下的亡魂。
報告指非法採金已再次在叢林出現，探索隊成員踏入非法採金的秘密工場，與現代尋金者見面。史提夫發現新一輪的尋金熱，可會對周邊森林帶來災難性的影響。
最後，探險隊深入從未有現代人踏足過的原始森林，遇上不懂迴避人類的動物，以及置人於死地的劇毒動物。探索隊划艇逆流前進期間，與水中的原始鱷魚、毒魔鬼魚以及世界最大的食人魚相遇。
Steve and a team of climbers and jungle survival experts head into the ancient landscape of the Guiana Shield. This vast wilderness of pristine forest and towering table top mountains is one of the most inaccessible terrains on the planet. 蘇利南迷失世界 Suriname: Lost World
史提夫與一班爬山及叢林求生專家，前往南美洲圭亞那地盾的遠古地帶。廣闊的原始森林及高聳的桌山是地球上最難到達的地域之一。早期的探險家前往尋金，但史提夫的目標是發掘豐富的生態及自然瑰寶。
史提夫與成員乘坐直升機飛到凶險的桌山懸崖，由山頂游繩深入谷底，探索原始叢林。經過壯觀的瀑布來到從未有人探索過的峽谷，發現蜂鳥、巨型蝴蝶和劇毒蜈蚣。他們更在谷底遇上落石，險些成為巨石下的亡魂。
報告指非法採金已再次在叢林出現，探索隊成員踏入非法採金的秘密工場，與現代尋金者見面。史提夫發現新一輪的尋金熱，可會對周邊森林帶來災難性的影響。
最後，探險隊深入從未有現代人踏足過的原始森林，遇上不懂迴避人類的動物，以及置人於死地的劇毒動物。探索隊划艇逆流前進期間，與水中的原始鱷魚、毒魔鬼魚以及世界最大的食人魚相遇。

史提夫探索隊深入阿曼險峻峽谷，挑戰阿拉伯最長的游繩下降距離，攀山渉水走過遠古山谷。
探索隊先來到阿曼最高的沙姆山習訓，在攝氏50度高溫游繩下降400米，將探索隊員的耐力推至極限。下降的磨擦力，差點燒著繩索，隊員必須小心控制速度，但時間太長卻令史提夫嚴重缺水而抽筋。
到達谷底，他們找大石作遮陰，紥營過夜。沙漠之中也有水源，生機乍現。史提夫便趁其他隊友休息之際，探索營地附近的鋸鱗蝰毒蛇及水蠍子。
探索隊再出發前往阿曼北部的哈傑爾山脈，再次游繩下降到未知的深谷。每人只能帶備六公升水上路，必須在三小時內找到下一個水源。為保性命，他們與時間競賽，但眼見雨雲迫近，而旱地降雨往往造成洪水，倘若在暴雨來臨前未及逃生，性命堪虞。

佐法爾沙漠是全球最難生存的環境之一，崎嶇又荒焦的土地，甚至被認為跟火星相似而用作太空人的訓練場地。乾旱多石的沙漠中心，是最瀕危、最獨特的動物的藏身之所。
探索隊由沙漠下降200米，抵達生態獨特的地下沉洞，前面有更具挑戰性的一公里垂直岩壁靜候他們。史提夫及世界頂級攀爬好手，首度挑戰阿拉伯南部的懸崖巨壁，踏足天然沙漠城堡。
這是人類首次挑戰攀爬這石壁的五百米高點，他們更在壁面的石台及洞穴探索。這個只有阿拉伯豹踏足的荒蕪石堡，究竟隱藏甚麼秘密？

峽谷激流需要高超的划艇技術，挑戰接踵而來，令探索隊沒有半點喘息空間，划艇高手面對狹窄的河道和大石障礙也要出盡渾身解數。史提夫被激流扯出獨木舟捲入水底，生死掙扎，艇手莎爾蒙哥馬利在千勻一發之間擲出救生索，令史提夫逃出致命漩渦。但探索隊還要面對前方30公里的峽谷激流。

婆羅洲中央的桑古利郎半島，有一大片喀斯特石灰岩山，龐大的石灰岩地貌之中有黑暗的坑洞、地下山洞及崎嶇的山峰。這些岩山是蝙蝠、游蛇、燕子及無脊椎動物的獨特居所。
吉勒喀斯特岩山是桑古利郎最高、而且人跡罕至的岩山。這地區以前崎嶇難行，但自從開闢了一條棕櫚樹公路之後，在叢林內步行兩小時就可到達。由於森林砍伐及開採石灰岩石的威脅已經迫在眉睫，紀錄區內的山洞及動物就變得更加重要。
東婆羅洲的達雅克人走遍各個山洞，尋找燕窩。他們對區內的地勢瞭如指掌，可幫助探索隊克服險要的地形，前往最有價值的探索點。
當地的山洞專家片迪博士曾於2004年深入地下坑洞探索。在地下200米，有從未有人踏足過的多層通道。片迪相信這些通道可貫通不同坑洞，探索隊深入這個地下世界，發現驚人的遺跡。
