I was watching television and got sidetracked browsing this forum. Last saturday I assigned five hours for practicing their songs on my piccolo, flute, oboe, cor anglais (english horn), clarinet, E-flat clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon and contrabassoon. I practised with my friends who play triangle, tambourine, castanets, sleigh bells (jingle bells), gongs, cymbals, snare drum and bass drum, all of which have indefinite pitch. Adding these percussion instruments make the music more rhythmic. Saxophone, clarinet and bass clarinet are single reed instruments whereas oboe, cor anglais, bassoon and contrabassoon are double reed instruments. Flute is a reedless instrument. Saxophone, cor anglais and clarinet are transposing instruments. I saw them live last year at Saitama Super Arena which was absolutely incredible and thoroughly enjoyable. The group and the dancers and acrobats they invited gave a superb performance. The choreography, the lighting, the stage design and the glow sticks were marvelous. It surpassed expectation. Best concert so far!
