Calhanoglu heading back to Germany?
Milan’s Turkish left-winger Hakan Calhanoglu could potentially be out the door in the summer with a return to Germany most likely.
The 25-year-old’s future at the club is uncertain, as he is seen as one of the players to cash in on in the next transfer window, reports Tuttomercatoweb.
Coach Gennaro Gattuso vetoed any sale of the former Bayer Leverkusen man in the winter, deeming him important to his first-team plans, but several lacklustre displays recently might have changed his mind.
Calhanoglu has scored just once in 31 Serie A games this season and Milan would be willing to part with him if a suitable replacement is found.
The Rossoneri value Calhanoglu at around €20m, a similar fee to what they paid for him in the summer of 2017 and a few German clubs are meant to be interested in signing the Turkey international.
RB Leipzig are one of those clubs rumoured to be keen on his signature and apparently made an off in the January transfer window, but were knocked back.
Calhanoglu previously played in the Bundesliga and would be open to a return to Germany, while some Turkish and Chinese clubs have also shown an interest.
